The LR amphora 2 is originally an Aegean product of the 4th century CE. It was most common in the Balkan and Aegean regions, but variants came to be produced at multiple workshops across the Eastern Mediterranean. According to Olga Karagiorgou (2009: 53), Late Roman 2 Amphora is the “the predominant transport vessel at Iatrus, Idependenta, Saridava, Samos, Chis, Torone, Argos and Halieis in Peloponnese.”
