Located on the southwestern coast of Cos, Halasarna was a wealthy and well-connected village in the 5th c. with a relatively small-scale LRA2/LRA13 production industry. This industry suddenly and exponentially grew after a large earthquake and tsunami in 554, and the ceramic repertoire was expanded to include LRA1s and Byzantine Globular amphoras (BGAs).
