This type is classified as Cypriot “Plain White IV” ware and is dated to the Cypro-Archaic I (700-600 BCE) (Gjerstad 1960: 114, fig. 6.7; Gjerstad et al. 1948: fig. 66.2).
The jar has a short cylindrical body, a tapered base, a short thick rim with flare, and a straight sloping shoulder. The shoulder is carinated with a small clay overhang and the small, crudely formed circular handles have applied clay around points of attachment. The base comes to a soft point (Barako 2008: 447).
