Cylindrical and bag-shaped jars are the most common group among the storage jars in Palestine during the Hellenistic period. The jars are generally associated with the central and southern coast of Palestine and Transjordan (Berlin 1997a:150; Berlin 2015:636–637, Pl. 6.1.13:1; Guz-Zilberstein 1995:311, Fig. 6.37:4; McNicoll, Smith and Hennessy 1982:135, Pl.127, No. 18). They date from the second to the mid-first century BCE.
