Description

optically active matrix with about 10% silt-sized quartz grains. A few ferruginous silty nodules of terra rossa soil appear in the matrix. The sand-sized non-plastic inclusions are <5% of the paste and contain chalk and calcrete fragments, as well as silicified rock fragments and a few bone fragments. The paste is rich in foraminifera. The identified foraminifera include the genii Subbotina sp. and Acarinina spp. Dated to the Paleogene, as well as radiolaria.
