Description

Ferruginous clay matrix, optically inactive. 26% inclusions, medium porosity. Aplastics are primarily quartz and feldspars (plagioclase), accompanied by minro volcanic rock fragments, brown hornblende, micas, amphiboles, microcline and naturally admixed plant fibres. Micrite and clinopyroxenes occur very rarely. This is a natural, relatively coarse (up to 1.80mm) Nile sediment.
