Megiddo EBA Red Painted ware
Israel/Jezreel Valley
c. 3500-2500 BCE
Early Bronze Age
General Information
Megiddo EBA Red painted ware pertains to vessels, both open and closed, fully or partially covered with thick, matte, red paint. The color is consistently medium to dark red, and is applied in an even, thick layer.
This ware can be distinguished from Megiddo EBA Red Wash ware by its consistently thicker, smoother, darker application of color, which seems to be paint rather than a wash or slip.
