Megiddo EBA Red Wash Ware
Israel/Jezreel Valley
c. 3500-2500 BCE
Early Bronze Age
General Information
Megiddo EBA Red Wash ware pertains to vessels, both open and closed, fully or partially covered with a thin, matte, red wash. The color ranges from light orangish-red to a darker red - but it is always rather thinly applied, via streaky, sometimes even see-through application.
This ware can be distinguished from Megiddo EBA Red Painted ware by the much thinner, more fugitive application of color, which seems to be a slip rather than paint.
