Matrix is foraminiferous marl, which received light buff tan while firing. Tempers compose 12-15 percent of the sherds' volumes and their size ranges between 0.5 and 2.0 mm. They are: the material which may be called "black sand" is present in different quantities in all the thin-sections, and it is the main characteristic feature for this petrographic group. The grains are of black and very dark gray color and are opaque in transmitting light. They are mostly rounded and sometimes sub-angular bodies varying in size from 0.1-0.2 to 1 mm and compose close to 3-9 percent of total volumes of the sherds.
