Clay matrix is fine-grained and moderately homogeneous, making up around 75% of the fabric. There is a fabric orientation in the clay with apparent striations noticeable especially under PPL. Clay is light to medium brown under XPL and medium to darker brown under PPL. Inclusions comprise around 20% of the fabric and are poorly sorted. Feldspars are the most frequent inclusion particularly in the altered form of serasite, with most measuring between .05 mm and .15 mm. Biotites are inter-spaced throughout the fabric, being equant sub-angular to sub-rounded and ranging from .02 mm to .1 mm. A small number of quartz minerals and siltstone lithics can be observed, the quartz measuring around .01-.02 mm and the siltstone exceeding .25 mm. A possible olivine can be observed, equant sub-rounded in shape and measuring .25 mm. Voids in this petrofabric are more elongated and comprise of around 5% of the total sample.
