Clay matrix is a fine silty to coarser fabric, moderately homogeneous and constitutes 75% of the petrofabric. Clay is grey, brown and orange under XPL and light to medium brown under PPL. The fabric changes color from light grey to medium brown to orange/brown under XPL the farther to the edge of fabric it approaches, illustrating the noticeable slip applied. Inclusions constitute around 20% of the fabric and are poorly sorted. Feldspars are uncommonly distributed through the fabric, measuring .05 mm to .3 mm and equant/elongated sub-rounded. Present lithic fragments include both siltstones and sandstones (as well as clasts of altered sandstones), ranging from .05 mm to .2 mm and sub-rounded in shape. Minerals within the fabric include some instances of small quartz grains ranging around .02 mm in size, and some opaque minerals throughout the fabric ranging from a multitude under .05 mm in size to .3 mm. Voids represent around 5% of the total fabric.
