Description

Matrix is greenish gray isotropic and milky as a result of high firing temperature, estimated 800-850ºC.
Tempers compose 12 to 22 percent of the sherds' volume and are represented by fine (0.2-0.8 mm) rounded and nearly rounded grains of alkali-olivine basalt or basaltic-derived minerals; micritic and sparitic limestone; sub-angular grains of replacement chert; and rounded quartz. The basalts belong to the alkali-olivine category, where olivine phenocrysts are altered into iddingsite.
