The clay is dark red to brown on XPL with low optical activity. There some clay nodules. some voids are aligned to the walls of the vessels.
The thin section is made of mostly clay (60%) with about 15% elongated voids. The inclusions consist of sub-rounded medium sorted silt and sand-size quartz (20%); sand size rounded opaque material (2%); silt size sub-angular Plagioclase feldspar (1%) and sub-rounded silt size Pyroxene (>1%).
