Description

Kaolinitic clay matrix with a high optical activity. Almost devoid of any inclusions (3%), low porosity. Very fine clay paste containing sporadically fine quartz inclusions, as well as hornblende and biotite. Symptomatic are discrete shale fragments (reddish to brownish colour). This is a relatively pure kaolinitic clay, originating from the broader Aswan region.
