Fabric noted at Polis-Peristeries in the Chrysochou Valley of Cyprus especially in Cypro-Geometric period ceramics of Cypriot Red Slip (Iron Age) and Cypriot Black-on-Red (Iron Age) wares, but also occasionally in other wares such as Cypriot White Painted (Iron Age).
Hard, fine fabric fired blue-gray (see examples for colors). Looks to the naked eye more like the hard-fired blue-gray core of some Late Bronze Age Red Lustrous ware vessels (see Grave et al. 2014 study) rather than the more typical fabric of Iron Age Cypriot Red Slip and Black-on-Red wares. Needs further study and analysis.
