This petro-fabric has been identified in the Late Bronze Age pithoi of Alassa (SW Cyprus). It is not a single but rather a range of fabrics characterized by a fine calcareous matrix which in some cases contains microfossils. The coarse nonplastic inlcusions consist of micritic limestone (dominant) and occasional fragments of basalt, pyroxene, serpentinite, and mustone. This composition is associated with the Troodos ophiolites.

The research forms part of a larger project undertaken by Dr Priscilla Keswani on the LBA pithoi in s-sw Cyprus. Funding for the project is provided by the Institute of Aegean Prehistory (INSTAP).
