According to the geological overview, a great variety of lithologies is attested surrounding the site, thus a local compatibility should be suggested for the kitchen pots fabrics and a general similarity should be established with the Misis Melange and the Volcanic-Sedimentary units (Robertson et al. 2004).
The petro-fabric is characterized by the association of coarse clasts of chert and micritic limestones, set in a red-firing clay, fine-grained groundmass, giving a bimodal appearance to the fabric. The optical activity of the sample micromass suggests that it has been fired to a fairly low firing temperature. There are common voids in both fabrics, and these are comprised between meso and macro channels. The voids are not infilled with microcalcitic material and have a preferential orientation, parallel to margin vessel. The voids are single-spaced.
