General Information
This ware group encompasses a very broad category. It is a versatile ware, used for a wide range of vessel forms, from storage to serving and other functions - but not cooking vessels. Vessels were fired at a range of temperatures, although generally low-fired between 650 and 750° C. On the Halif Terrace, shapes represented include hole mouth mugs, bowls, jars, cups, store jars, vats, cornets, and jugs/juglets.
Worth noting is that some of the vessels of this ware carry 'pajama ware' style decoration.
This is a calcareous clay, tempered with rounded limestone, chalk grits, wadi gravel, and silt-sized quartz components.
