General Information
Jerash Light Brown ware (JLBW) is a common, long-lived plain ware that Gerasa/Jerash potters used from late Hellenistic through early Islamic times to make utilitarian household vessels. The repertoire includes every possible shape for domestic purpose: bowls, cups, plates, jars, jugs, juglets, amphoras, etc. The percentage of JLBW seems to be highest in the assemblages dating to the middle Roman Roman period (2th-3th cent CE), but that is probably because this era is the best represented from excavations at the site.
Local fabric,medium-well fired, wheel thrown. The colour ranges in different light brown shades (Munsell: 7.5 YR 7/6–5/6).The inclusions are tiny, very few/few of grits.
