General Information
This ware appears exclusively as tableware and can be classified as the precursor to the late antique Aswan White Slip ware (Groups W and WP). Bowls/small bowls are the most common shapes. The production of this ware began in the early Roman period.
This ware is covered by a thick, dull white slip. In some cases the slip also has a slightly pink appearance. Most pieces are decorated with bands which can appear both on the exterior as well as the interior of the vessel’s body.
