General Information
Description
LRJW are vessels with a brown-red surface and a black core, or else dark beige with a lighter beige core. They contain a large amount of fine or medium-sized quartz grains and single uni-dentified small grains of a brown-red colour. Sporadically, in the form of blemishes on the surface of the vessels, the presence of large- or medium-sized multangular white grains, probably limestone, have been noted. The clay is more porous than that of the wares discussed above. The surface is uneven and covered with a similar kind of patina as in the case of the vessels from the ERJW group.
