General Information
Description
open and carinated bowls made using a brown, soil-derived clay and is characterized by a dark, optically inactive clay matrix. It is relatively porous, with voids covering 10-25% of the slide area, and the distribution of inclusions (non-plastic elements) is usually either single spaced or double spaced. The inclusions include a dominant component of quartz, usually 15-30% of the slide area, and in some cases as high as 40%. This clay recipe is used for only bowls at Tel Nagila.
