General Information
Description
The body is light red (Munsell Soil Color Charts: 2.5YR 6/8), well fired, characterized by a moderate amount of fine to medium white and black inclusions (tempers’ frequency and dimensions can differ). The outer surface is not equally coloured (probably because of firing variations) and can be sometimes darker than the core (reddish brown, 2.5 YR 5/3).
The inner base can be covered by a layer of transparent glaze.
This body is associated to cooking wares.
The material comes from the area of Bustan Nassif, in Baalbek (Lebanon).
