General Information
This ware is common at sites in southern Syria as well as northern Jordan.
Produced in Jerash (Jordan), the pottery ranges in color depending on firing, ranging between red, brown, orange, and sometimes grey. What distinguishes it is the number of commonly visible elements, including quartz, micritic limestone, and iron-rich, opaque argillaceous nodules. Feldspar and muscovite flakes are also occasionally noted. The coarseness of the fabric varies.
