Al-Muwaqqar is a village located southeast of 'Amman and northeast of Queen Alia International Airport. It contains the poorly-preserved remains of an Umayyad palace, Qasr al-Muwaqqar, excavated by the Department of Antiquities of Jordan in the late 1980s (Najjar 1989).
