Mavrovouni was a copper smelting site in the northern stretch of the Troodos Mountains. It was occupied during the Late Roman period, with a radiocarbon dating to 416-533 CE produced from a charcoal sample found in a slag heap there. Detailed ceramic analyses by Winther-Jacobsen (2022) suggest that Mavrovouni was operated alongside the nearby smelting site Litharkies as a single industrial operation.
