The village of Arsuz (present-day Uluçınar), located on the coast a few km south of Iskenderun, is usually identified with ancient Rhosos (or Rhodiopolis). There have been no systematic investigations of the ancient ruins that are, in some cases, still visible today (Hild and Hellenkemper 1990: 392).
