The shipwreck was found at a depth of 430 meters below sea level, "7-8 km south of the Datça peninsula and ca. 20 km east-southeast of Knidos itself" (Brennan et al. 2020: 317). The deposit is significantly disturbed by trawling activity, but the core of the site is 8 x 4 meters oriented northeast-southwest. "The SW end of the site, which we identify as the stern, includes a small number of galley wares (cooking pots, casserole, bowl, jug), singleton LRA1 and LRA3 types, and a concentration of tiles" (Brennan et al. 2020: 317). The main cargo consisted of Late Roman Amphora 2 (LRA 2), some 45 vessels. Dated to the 7th c. CE
