Wadi Musa is the modern town to the east of Petra. This site, WM 18, refers to a large area in the town center surveyed by the Wadi Musa Water Supply and Wastewater Project Area Survey ('Amr et al. 1998: 522). WM 18 is probably the ancient settlement of Gaia, a satellite town of Petra, and was divided into 10 subsites, numbered WM 18A-J, during the survey.
