Mount Nebo is an impressive height rising to ca. 817 meters (2680 feet) above sea level. It is connected with the Hebrew prophet Moses. In the 4th c. CE a church and monastery were built on its summit. Looking west from here, one can see across the Jordan River and into the Judean hills of Israel.
