Description

Foraminiferous matrix, with 12-20 percent of microfossils. Silt size quartz. Rare plagioclase and clinopyroxene and opaque dots of ore material.
Sand size materials are different within the group, while, when present, the grains are rounded and sorted enough to conclude that they originated as wadi sands, which were sieved by potter and added to the paste.
Sand size inclusions compose 5-7 percent of the sherds' volumes. They are coarse and their sizes range between 0.7 and 3.0 mm. They are represented by rounded and sub-rounded grains of biogenic chalk or limestone, containing microfaunal remains same as within the clay, and nodules if silty ferruginous clay (possibly Terra Rossa). Firing temperature estimated 750C.
