Description

The fabric is reddish under PPL, iron-rich with iron oxides, not optically active, and silty (30%). The silt is composed mainly of sub-rounded quartz and a few opaque minerals.  The non-plastic components are very poorly sorted and sub-angular but weathered calcareous rocks (5%) and quartz (3%).
