Description

The matrix is calcareous, comprising foraminifera and silty quartz. Oval to round ferruginous silty components (terra rossa mud balls) ranging from 0.1-2mm in diameter are commonly appeared in the paste. Sand-sized fragments of calcareous rocks such as limestone, chalk, dolomite as well as chert and some mollusk fragments are appeared as well as rarely basalt (one single fragment).
