The matrix is calcareous, comprising foraminifera and silty quartz. Oval to round ferruginous silty components (terra rossa mud balls) ranging from 0.1-2mm in diameter are commonly appeared in the paste. Sand-sized fragments of decomposed calcareous rocks.
