The fabric is very fine, containing a little ferruginous micaceous clay, with about 1% of very fine (0.01-0.03 mm) quartz and feldspar silt and mica laths (biotite). Some of the samples lack any inclusions, and in others sand size materials of one to several fine (0.1-0.3 mm) grains per thin-section appear, identifiable as feldspar, quartz, plagioclase and mica laths. The firing temperature is estimated to be quite high – above 750ºC.
