According to the geological overview, a great variety of lithologies is attested surrounding the site, thus a local compatibility should be suggested for the kitchen pots fabrics, a general similarity should be established with the Misis Melange and the Volcanic-Sedimentary units (Robertson et al. 2004).
This fabric is characterized by the occurrence of quarzite rocks, often replaced by hematite, and micritic limestones set in red-firing clay. The optical activity of the groundmass suggests that it has been fired to fairly low temperature.
Silt-sized, monocrystalline quartz grains compose the groundmass, for the most part. The base clay is homogenous throughout the section and the colour is reddish brown in PPL and in XPL.
The voids are commonly attested, and they are comprised between meso channels and macro voids. The voids are not infilled with microcalcitic material and have a random orientation. They are also single-spaced.
