Identification of a kiln somewhere near this location is based on the unusually soft, friable, orange fabric (Cypriot Plain Light, Soft red-orange) used to shape plain ware vessels (usually called Plain White ware in Cypriot ceramic terminology) found almost entirely at this site location, based on survey information (see SIA 2, SCY 211 in the Sydney Cyprus Survey Project volume by Given and Knapp 2003: 78-80, also discussed in Given and Smith 2003); the ceramics were found in the context of a small rural cult place. Note that in the ceramics catalogue, Gregory et al. 2003, the site name is incorrectly listed as Klirou-Manastirka. Four examples of objects from this location are included on the LCP site so far: SCSP nos. 4052.2.1, 4052.6.1, 4052.9.1, and 4052.13.1,2. Among the other sherds found at SIA 2 that to date have no illustration but are of the same fabric are: SCSP nos. 3008.4A, 3020.2, 3020.7, 3049.4A, 3049.17A, 4052.4, 4052.11, 4074.12; there are also cross-overs with Cypriot Plain Kitchen (Iron Age) seen on sherds SCSP nos. 4052.7, 4052.8.
