Mieczysław Rodziewicz directed the Polish Centre of Mediterranean Archaeology excavations at the site of Kom el-Dikka, Alexandria, Egypt from 1972–1984. He was a renowened specialist in the archaeology of Classical, Nubian, and Coptic/Early Byzantine Egypt, with a special expertise in ceramics.
