Avraham Negev (1923-2004) was an Israeli archaeologist who devoted much of his career to excavating Nabataean, Roman, and Byzantine sites in the Negev. He was a professor of archaeology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (HUJI) from 1964 to 1990.
